In addition to the above considerations, there are a few things you'll want to look for in any solution for helping you travel with your watches. What to Look for in Your Watch Travel Solutions This is probably what you want if you're carrying around delicate, high-value watches - though hard cases do tend to take up more room in your luggage that could be used for hotel soap. Cases, on the other hand, do offer stiff material to protect watches from any such pressure. That said, watch rolls and pouches are usually more than sufficient, especially if you pack them carefully. Pouches offer similar considerations as rolls. Or if someone sat on your bag with your watch roll inside. What they don't do is provide a hard outer shell that would protect a watch from pressure if it were, say, stored with other bags on top of it or which might shift around. Watch rolls are relatively compact and they, well, roll right up to secure your watches from most risks they might face when traveling. "My Deep Guide" videos on YouTube helped with this decision a lot. What's the difference between the options you have for carrying watches? It's pretty straightforward. and right now I still find it pretty nice for drawing anyway. but the idea of having to pay a subscription to get some basic functions really turned me off, and with all the new features that SN has incorporated since its release, and with what I can see upcoming on Trello, I have faith that the drawing tools they're developing will be just what I'm looking for. I have never used a RM2, and tbh, RIGHT NOW it probably would have made more sense for me to get a RM because of the more advanced drawing tools. It made the nib slightly more grippy, and the pointed end has made my marks feel more precise. I bought some cheap S stylus nibs off Amazon (manufacturer name was "Knomix") for $1CAD per nib. replacing the nib really improved the LAMY for me. I'm not sure about it showing dirt etc as I've kept it clean so far I do like how it incorporates the guide rail so that it's pretty much impossible for the SN to accidentally pop out. the standard grey folio is nice and simple, and has a pleasingly soft texture. If it matters to you, there is more of a "click" sound when using the HoM when you tap on the screen for new strokes. ![]() I tend to use the HoM when exact performance/feel doesn't matter so much (eg doing crossword puzzles), and use the LAMY when I'm drawing (the erase button is also convenient for this). It's very lightweight and comfortable in my hand, and with the pointed nib the gap between the nib and the active surface feels smaller and my actions more precise. while the HoM pen is nice and feels very solid, and I like the concept of never having to replace the nib, I personally prefer the LAMY. I tend to use my SN more for drawing, not writing, so keep that in mind :) I have an A5X with a standard grey folio, and have a HoM pen as well as a LAMY with the pen nib replaced with a no-name grey nib (meant for the S stylus, but works perfectly fine on the LAMY). I use the pointy Lamy PC/EL nibs which I prefer over the rounded Lamy POM nibs as they feel a bit more precise.Īs accessories I have a padded tablet sleeve for transport, a foldable bluetooth keyboard, a USB A thumb drive and a USB C to USB A adapter (I use the A5X on the job and don't want my business data in a cloud so transfer fies via USB cable or thumb drive) The Lamy nibs needs to be replaced eventually but are quite durable, from my experience they can hold a year or even longer. ![]() And I very much like the eraser button of the Lamy which I dearly miss in the rare cases when I still use another pen. I ordered both Lamy EMR and HoM pen but fully and quickly fell for the Lamy, it's ergonomics are perfect for my hand, much more comfortable than the HoM. ![]() Same for the pens and nibs, best is to try them out to find your favourite. ![]() Leather is more prone to scratches but seems a bit easier to get cleaned from stains, in the end I think it's mainly personal preference which optic and haptic you prefer (slightly rough fabric or smooth leather) I have the A5X with blue canvas folio and the A6X with black leather folio.
